Dismantle MNsure and move individuals purchasing private-market health insurance to the federal exchange — that’s the objective of a bill moving forward in the Republican-controlled Minnesota House. Sponsor, Dellwood Representative Matt Dean says lawmakers were told when they voted in MNsure that it would be self-sufficient without state subsidy, “but the state subsidy continues to grow.” Opponents of the bill warn the Trump administration and Congress may soon eliminate the federal exchange as part of efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.
