Minnesota House lawmakers continue hearing pitches for projects seeking state bonding dollars as they make a two-day sweep Tuesday and Wednesday through southeast Minnesota. The commitee makes a couple stops in the Twin Cities, then heads to the Frontenac Ski Jump (1125am), the Lake City Riverfront (1235pm), the National Eagle Center in Wabasha (150pm), and then hears a number of presentations in Rochester (late pm). House Capital Investment Committee Chairman Dean Urdahl from Grove City says statewide they have about three billion dollars in requests, and guesses next year’s bonding bill will be somewhere between 500 million and a billion dollars. “In other words, gonna be a lot of projects that don’t get funded,” he says, “But we certainly have to live within the guidelines that we have for a bonding bill.”
Wednesday the panel visits Chatfield, Lanesboro, Harmony, Austin, Medford and South Saint Paul.
