Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Daudt (DOWT), after pooh-poohing speculation earlier, appears to be leaning toward running for governor. Daudt said at an event celebrating the first day of Sunday sales at liquor stores, “I, a couple months ago, had kinda decided I wasn’t running for governor, and then just in the last probably week or two have kind of started thinking about it again. So I am thinking about it.”
Four Republicans are already in the race for governor: Ramsey Commissioner Blake Huffman, State Representative Matt Dean, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson, and Christopher Chamberlin. Six Democrats have thrown their hats in the ring.
