No state-mandated vaccinations for children was among the messages as hundreds converged on the State Capitol Thursday afternoon to rally for parental rights. State Senator and family physician Scott Jensen told the crowd, “My children are fully vaccinated and I give vaccinations every day — and it doesn’t matter because what you’re about is not anti-anything. You are pro-science, you are pro-parenting, and you are pro-parental-rights.”
One woman said the issue goes beyond vaccinations. “It’s choice for anything. I don’t think that the government should be able to decide what’s best for your kids,” she said.
Many parents brought their children to hear from elected officials and other advocates.
