A high-ranking officer in the Minnesota National Guard — Brigadier General Johanna Clyborne — will lead the state’s troubled I-T department when Commissioner Thomas Baden retires at the end of January. Top priority is fixing the vehicle registration system that has drivers, car dealers and deputy registrars upset. Clybourne says, “We will not rest until we get this project done — right — and continue to provide the excellent service to the people of the state of Minnesota.”
But neither incoming Commissioner Clybourne nor Governor Mark Dayton will yet say how soon the MN-LARS system will be fixed. Dayton said Wednesday afternoon, “We wanted to make it perfect, and that’s the goal, and we’ll give you a scenario next week.”
