An influential state lawmaker does not hold out much hope for new leadership at the state’s I-T department being able to fix continuing problems with the new vehicle registration system, MN-LARS. Republican Senator Mark Kiffmeyer from Big Lake says, “To me it’s kind of like the Titanic hits the iceberg and then you get a new captain.” Kiffmeyer says she wishes for the best and will do everything she can to be helpful, but it’s an ingrained problem that stemmed from MNsure, and now MN-LARS. Governor Mark Dayton announced yesterday Minnesota National Guard Brigadier General Johanna Clyborne will head the I-T department when Commissioner Thomas Baden retires at the end of January.
