A Washington County judge has found the inmate accused of killing Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm competent to stand trial, reports the Star Tribune. 43-year-old Edward Johnson initially refused to cooperate with the mental health evaluation. The judge instructed a doctor to complete the evaluation without talking to Johnson if necessary, but he eventually did provide an interview. Johnson has an omnibus court hearing in February. A trial date is not set.
