Iowa man dies in crash involving snowplow

February 7, 2019 By Tasha Redel

One man is dead and another is hospitalized after a crash involving a car and snowplow near Wabasha in southeastern Minnesota. The State Patrol says a vehicle traveling west on Highway 60 turned directly in front of a plow headed south on U-S Highway 61 Tuesday night. Troopers say the car struck the truck and got caught in the plow’s blade. A passenger in the car – 26-year-old Enrique Castro of North Liberty, Iowa – died at the scene. The 22-year-old driver from Chicago suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. The Rochester man driving the plow wasn’t hurt. The accident report says the road conditions were snowy and icy at the time.
