Extended unemployment benefits for out-of-work Iron Range miners remain stalemated at the State Capitol after Senate Democrats refused today (Mon) to go along with House Republicans’ bill which also includes business tax breaks. Senate G-O-P Leader David Hann says lawmakers have been trying for weeks to get the bill done, and now Democrats are saying there’s some problem with the process and procedure. Chisholm Democrat Dave Tomassoni fired back it’s “absolutely outrageous that we’re even sitting here arguing about this, because of the fact that we had to give a business tax break in order to give the Iron Rangers their benefits.”
