State officials say they’re disturbed that traffic deaths in Minnesota were up significantly in January from the previous year: 25 fatalities last month, versus nine in January 2015. Traffic Safety Office Director Donna Berger says it could be due to our unusually mild winter, with people driving faster and using less caution than normal in January. Berger reminds all motorists to buckle up, get rid of distractions, slow down and do not mix alcohol with driving.
