A judge in Brown County has approved a 34-million-dollar settlement between the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm and nearly 100 survivors of clergy sex abuse. It came after tearful testimony by several victims and an apology from Bishop John Le Voir, who said he prays daily “knowing we can never truly compensate you.” The diocese also agreed to implement 17 protocols to protect children from clergy abuse.
