We find out later this morning (10 am) if Minnesota employers continued creating jobs in July.
In June, Minnesota employers added 73-hundred jobs and the overall unemployment rate remained steady at 3.8 percent. One notable sign of improvement: The 12-month moving average unemployment rate of black Minnesotans fell below 10% (to 9.7%) for the first time since 2002. That rate is well down from its 23.3% peak in August 2011. Eight of the eleven major sectors gained jobs over the month in June.
Meanwhile, Minnesota remains below the national unemployment rate of 4.9 percent.
