A jury in Duluth has awarded former U-M-D women’s hockey coach Shannon Miller nearly four million dollars for her claim of discrimination and retaliation by her former employer, reports WDIO-TV. Miller and two other women sued the Board of Regents, alleging discrimination on the basis of age, sex, sexual orientation and national origin. In closing statements, U-M-D’s attorney said a drop in performance of the women’s hockey team contributed to non-renewal of Miller’s contract.
