JWRC asks Minnesotans to wear #11 in honor of Jacob Wetterling

September 8, 2016 By Scott Peterson

Jacob Wetterling

The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center is asking Minnesotans to wear or add the number 11 somewhere on their person.

Jacob Wetterling wore the number 11 on his soccer and hockey jerseys. Patty Wetterling says the idea is to wear the number as a sign of commitment to making the world a better place for kids and to honor Jacob’s spirit and sense of fairness. The idea came about after a children’s soccer team approached the JWRC asking to wear the number 11 in their next game.

The Wetterling’s ask if you put on Jacob’s jersey number, make a commitment to living with 11 traits: 1. Be Fair 2. Be Kind 3. Be Understanding 4. Be Honest 5. Be Thankful 6. Be a Good Sport 7. Be a Good Friend 8. Be Joyful 9. Be Generous 10. Be Gentle with others 11. Be Positive.

People who wear #11 can post to social media with the #11forJacob or #JacobsHopeLives.
