Jim Bruton is a former prison warden, who upon retirement began writing books. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Hamline University. His most recent project was helping former University of Minnesota football Jerry Kill write a book about Kill’s struggles with epilepsy and cancer, and how he motivated people. The book is titled “Chasing Dreams” and hit book stores this week. It is available for purchase on-line, as well. Bruton says he began writing this book figuring he was simply telling the story of Kill’s coaching career. But, he says he found out there was much more to Kill’s life than being a football coach. Bruton says Kill and his wife Rebecca have impacted every community they’ve lived in beyond football:
Proceeds from the “Chasing Dreams” book help Kill’s two charitable foundations. Kill will have several book signings on campus this weekend. You can hear MNN Sports Director Mike Grimm’s full discussion with Jerry Kill here.
