Senator Amy Klobuchar’s appearance as keynote speaker at a Democratic fundraiser in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday has re-ignited speculation about whether she’ll run for president in 2020. Klobuchar didn’t talk about political plans, but did say “we need people who are speaking out nationally from the middle of the country”. She added, “I can see Iowa from my porch. So it is good to be back with friends, and I thought I was gonna come down here to cheer you guys up, but you’ve cheered me up.” Klobuchar said President Trump is too focused on tweeting and described the Senate as the “emergency brake” on some of his agenda.
