Sen. Amy Klobuchar
Senator Amy Klobuchar is among U-S lawmakers in Cuba as President Obama has historic meetings with President Raul Castro. Klobuchar has introduced a bill to lift the trade embargo with the island nation. She says Minnesota currently does about 20 million a year in ag exports to Cuba under a humanitarian exemption because they don’t have enough food and “if we lifted the embargo, it would double, it would triple.” Klobuchar says restrictions on travel to Cuba is another issue she’s working on.
