Klobuchar distant fifth at 6 percent in latest Iowa Poll, Sanders leads for first time in Hawkeye State

January 10, 2020 By Bill Werner

Senator Amy Klobuchar is a distant fifth in Iowa at six percent in the latest Democratic presidential poll by the Des Moines Register. Bernie Sanders leads for the first time in the Hawkeye State at 20 percent, with Elizabeth Warren (17), Pete Buttigieg (16) and Joe Biden (15) close behind.

Hamline University’s David Schultz says although Klobuchar did well in the December debate and had a good December for fundraising, “For her basically to be stuck still in fifth, nine points behind the fourth-place person, is again not good — especially in a state that she has made it make-or-break practically for her.”

Klobuchar is in next Tuesday’s seventh Democratic presidential debate in Des Moines.
