A panel of “heavy-duty professors” called together by Senator Amy Klobuchar says Republicans are going against the Constitution by refusing to consider any nomination President Obama makes to replace the late U-S Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Klobuchar says some Republicans are “talking about holding this up for well over a year, for two terms of the court. And we believe this is unprecedented and is against the clear words of the constitution.” Republicans are concerned Obama will appoint a liberal justice as he gets ready to leave office. They argue the next president should decide after the people make their choice in November.
