Senator Amy Klobuchar
A bi-partisan bill co-sponsored by U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar that aims to improve the veteran suicide crisis line has been signed into law. The Veterans Crisis Line (VCL) is a toll-free number where vets and their families can get support 24-7. The new law requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to develop a quality assurance plan to improve service at the line and provide more timely answers to vets in need. Klobuchar says access to mental health care is critical, and this bill being signed into law is “a step forward in delivering the suicide prevention and mental health treatment [vets] deserve.”
