(Minneapolis, MN) — Minneapolis police say a 40-year-old man shot to death last month was apparently killed during a home invasion. A relative of Abdullah Adeed found the victim’s body in a bed August 22nd. Police say they found spent shell casings in the home and several televisions stacked near a doorway. Adeed was shot multiple times.

(St. Paul, MN) — A Minnesotan is now at the head of the national non-profit Disabled American Veterans. Stephen Whitehead was unanimously elected commander in early August, becoming the first post-9-11 vet to lead the D-A-V. Whitehead joined the Minnesota Army National Guard in 1991 and in 2006 was deployed to Iraq. He was injured in a mortar attack. The D-A-V has more than a million members and will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

(Blooming Prairie, MN) — Search warrants related to the case of Lois Riess reveal more about the 2018 killing of her husband David in their Blooming Prairie home. Investigators say a business partner of David’s asked police to check on him after he hadn’t seen him in 16 days. Suspicious text messages from David’s phone suggest Lois was posing as her husband after she allegedly murdered him. The warrants also reveal David was killed by multiple shots from a .22 caliber gun, a confirmed match to the weapon found in Lois Riess’ hotel room.

(Brooklyn Center, MN) — Brooklyn Center police officers responding to a domestic assault report Saturday afternoon say a man was shot to death during a struggle after they arrived. The unnamed 21-year-old man died before he could be taken to a hospital, while one officer got a scraped arm in the struggle. The caller who reported the assault had told officers the suspect was armed.

(Colvin, MN) — Authorities in northeast Minnesota say pilot inexperience may have been a factor in the crash of an ultra-light aircraft Sunday morning in St. Louis County. Robert Kangas of Colvin had been airborne for only a minute when the plane came down in a swampy ditch. He wasn’t injured.

(Blaine, MN) — A circus performer was hit in the neck by an arrow during a performance Friday night in Blaine but apparently was not seriously injured. In the show, the woman holds balloons while her husband shoots them. Blaine police say she made a wrong move and was hit by the arrow. People in the crowd say she walked off the stage quickly, but she wasn’t holding her neck and they saw no blood.
(Alexandria, MN) — An elderly woman with Alzheimer’s disease is safe after an extensive air, water and ground search in Alexandria. Family and neighbors of the woman say they discovered that she was missing around 6 P.M. Sunday and began searching themselves before enlisting authorities’ help. The woman was located about a quarter mile from her home in a heavily wooded area just after midnight. She did not appear to be injured but was taken to an Alexandria hospital as a precaution.
(Mankato, MN) — A report of a bomb threat at a Mankato shopping mall resulted in a short closure of a movie theater, but police found nothing dangerous and there were no arrests. It came after Saturday’s mass shooting in Texas that left seven dead and over 20 injured.
