The latest information from authorities is that nine children between the ages of six and 11 were injured Tuesday night in an A-T-V crash in Runeberg Township in northwest Minnesota. Becker County investigators say an 11-year-old boy driving the side-by-side A-T-V swerved to avoid a dog and the vehicle tipped on its side. A six-year-old boy was flown to Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries. Eight others were taken to hospitals in Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids, some with what were believed to be minor injuries.
This is the second accident this month in Becker County involving children driving an A-T-V. On July 4th an eight-year-old girl driving an A-T-V and two four-year-old passengers were seriously injured when they were hit by a car while trying to cross a road near Cotton Lake.
