The latest economic forecast comes out today (summary at 915am), telling whether the state budget has another surplus or a deficit — but its value is questionable, given uncertainty in Washington D-C over a tax bill and health care. Governor Mark Dayton says today’s forecast will be “speculative at best and it’s not gonna factor in any of the provisions which nobody knows about, including members who voted for it.” Dayton says if a revised state budget is needed, he won’t issue his recommendations until after the next economic forecast due out in early March. At that time, the legislature will be back in session.
