Re-open Minnesota’s schools as soon as possible, was the cry from both sides of the political aisle Monday night when the legislature passed an aid package for businesses and workers. Senator Tom Bakk, independent from Cook, says, “The University of Minnesota has done a lot of research on the amount of brain development that happens in those very early years of life, and our young learners are being hurt greatly by what is going on.”
Rochester Republican Carla Nelson echoed, “We’re gonna pay for this for years. Our children are suffering. They’re gonna continue to suffer. The achievement gaps have grown exponentially.”
