An undetermined amount of crude oil has leaked from the Keystone pipeline at a location in northeastern North Dakota, about 50 miles from Grand Forks. Karl Rockeman with the North Dakota state Health Department says, “We know the spill did occur in a wetland area so there has been impacts there, but it appears at this point that the spill impacts have been kept contained to that immediate area.”
Officials say no drinking water supplies are affected. Crews are on site and the pipeline is shut down. The break occurred overnight (Tues/Wed).
