Four Blaine police officers became sick after being exposed to noxious emissions from a suspect van after a chase this morning. It began at around 8:15 am when two officers tried to stop a suspicious van. The suspects fled and a three-mile pursuit led to Lino Lakes where police performed a PIT maneuver stopping the vehicle. The officers and the driver of the van were treated for illness. A passenger in the van was interviewed by police and released. Investigators say it appears the cause of the illness was a combination of a leaking propane tank and a number of spray cans in the van. Officers did find a loaded firearm in the van and the incident remains under investigation.
