Lewis and Clark water system funding moves forward at State Capitol

A bill to fund the final phase of the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System in southwest Minnesota is moving forward in the Minnesota House. Scott Hain with Worthington Public Utilities says promised federal funding is coming in at a snail’s pace and if Minnesota lawmakers approve the requested amount it will allow Worthington to be hooked up and begin receiving Lewis and Clark water by the summer of 2018.”  Luverne is already receiving water from the Lewis and Clark system, which pumps water from the Missouri River to a number of communities in Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa.
