License tab renewal services to shut down for period in late July

July 7, 2017 By Bill Werner

If your license tabs or plates are due for renewal this month, be aware that you won’t be able to do it in person from July 20th through the 24th as the state upgrades its computer system.  And you won’t be able to renew online for even longer — July 17th through the 24th. Vehicle title applications are also affected. Officials say drivers license operations won’t be interrupted except on Saturday July 22nd, when that computer system is shut down also. They’re urging vehicle owners to take care of renewals before July 17th. Check with your local Driver and Vehicle Services office to see if they’ll still be open for other services during the computer system shutdown.
