A 106-year-old lighthouse at the tip of Wisconsin Point in Superior has been sold for 159 thousand dollars to a California man, the highest bidder in an Internet auction. Several years ago the federal government tried to interest local agencies and groups in the historic lighthouse, but there were no takers so they made it available to the general public. Officials say the light itself will still be used for navigation and the lighthouse buyer is required to maintain the structure to federal historic property standards.
