A Fargo-Moorhead community tradition 43-years strong has come to an end with Minnesota State University Moorhead announcing it will no longer host the annual Fourth of July celebration and fireworks display. University President Anne Blackhurst says they’ve decided the event doesn’t serve the students or community in way that are consistent with the University’s educational purpose and goal of providing high quality education for its students. The college will save more than 35-thousand plus employee overtime pay.
