Tomorrow is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson says “When you get unwanted medication out of your medicine cabinet you can prevent drugs from being diverted. Over 50-percent of people who become addicted to prescription painkillers get the drugs from friends or family members, often times without their knowledge.” Swanson says a number of law enforcement agencies across the state will be participating in Drug Take-Back Day tomorrow. She says even if your local law enforcement agency is not taking part in tomorrow’s event, many agencies and pharmacies have drug-collection receptacles that are available year round.
