The WNBA today announced Lynx Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Cheryl Reeve has been named the 2026 State Street Investment Management Spy WNBA Coach of the Year. The honor marks the fifth of her career, extending her own league record, with Reeve previously winning the award in 2011, 2016, 2020 and 2024.

In her 17th season as Minnesota’s head coach, Reeve guided Minnesota to a league-best 33-11 record and the No. 1 overall seed in the WNBA Playoffs. Reeve earned WNBA Coach of the Month honors for June and was selected to serve as an All-Star head coach for the sixth time at the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago in July.

Under Reeve, the Lynx ranked second in the league in net rating (9.1), third in offensive rating (115.0) and fourth in defensive rating (103.5), while also ranking second in steals (9.1), third in assists (21.9) and third in opponent field goal percentage (41.4%). Minnesota recorded the most road wins in WNBA history (18) and went on a 10-game winning streak (July 11-Aug. 12), the longest streak in franchise history since 2016. Reeve became the league’s all-time winningest coach on July 8 (380) and finished the season with 397 regular season wins.
