The Lynx were able to hold on for the 85-81 win against the Portland Fire on the road Wednesday night after leading by 24 at halftime. It was all Portland in the 2nd half as the comeback trail found its way to Oregon, but it wasn’t successful for the hosts thanks to two late steals in the final 60 seconds from Kayla McBride to seal the win for the Lynx. Minnesota led by as much as 29 in the 3rd quarter and held on for the 4 point win.
All 5 starters for the Lynx scored in double figures in this one, led by Napheesa Collier’s 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks, and Kayla McBride’s 19 points and 4 steals. Natasha Howard also had a 14 point, 12 rebound, 2 steal double double in the win.
