A Minneapolis man accused of trying to kill his father October 24th in Eden Valley has admitted to domestic assault as a part of a plea bargain with other charges dropped. Prosecutors say 55-year-old Timothy Scholtes threw his father to the ground, wrestled a gun from him, held it to his father’s neck and pulled the trigger — but the gun jammed and did not fire. Scholtes has a lengthy criminal record, including five arrests for assault. He’ll be sentenced February 14th.
