A Saint Paul man faces fourth-degree assault charges for allegedly hitting an officer on the head several times with a key and spitting at other officers. Prosecutors say 28-year-old Coni Shegog resisted arrest when an officer responded to a call about a harassment order involving the defendant’s girlfriend and another woman. The officer was taken to the hospital and a staple was needed to close his head wound.
