A judge has sentenced a Minneapolis man to life in prison without possibility of parole for the drive-by shooting death of a 58-year-old grandmother. 21-year-old Joshua Ezeka was firing at a rival gang member when one of the bullets hit Birdell Beeks, who was running errands with her 16-year-old granddaughter. The Star Tribune reports during victim impact statements, Beeks’ daughter told the court she’d love nothing more than to see the defendant die “so his family can see our pain.”
