A Twin Cities man has his first court appearance today on charges of assault, terroristic threats and child endangerment after an overnight standoff with police in New Hope earlier this week. Authorities say it began as a domestic dispute Monday night after 26-year-old Andrew Hogan threatened to kill his girlfriend. She managed to escape and told officers Hogan was threatening to harm her two children who were inside the home. Police say Hogan repeatedly threatened to shoot them during the ensuing standoff. He surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternon. The children were unharmed.
