A Deer River man had pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide in a drunk-driving crash in Itasca County that killed two people in early September. Authorities say 29-year-old Derrick Cloud broadsided a vehicle that was making a U-turn on a state highway, and both occupants died at the scene. Cloud’s blood alcohol level after the crash was almost twice the legal limit. His sentencing is April 5th.
