Matthews Scores Twice and Beats Wild in Toronto

(Toronto, Ontario) — Auston Matthews scored twice including the game winner midway through the third as the Leafs beat the Wild 3-1 in Toronto. Freddy Gaudreau scored the only Wild goal at 8:37 of the second but just :27 seconds later Matthews tied the game with his 35th of the season and then picked rookie Brandon Duhaime’s pocket to help set up his 36th at 10:22 of the third. Kaapo Kahkonen got the start in goal and made 22 saves in the loss. The Wild are 1-2-0 to open the four game road trip which concludes at 9 P-M on Saturday night in Calgary.
