Demonstrators are taking to the streets throughout the country and in Minnesota today mark 100 days of resistance to President Trump’s policies. Meredith Aby-Keirstead is with the Anti-War Committee and says “we want to use today to highlight that we have already had 100 days of resistance and we plan on having hundreds of days of more resistance to say “no” to the Trump agenda which promotes bigotry is anti-worker and is anti-immigrant.”
The Anti-War Committee organized a march of thousands on January 31st to protest President Trump’s first attempt at a Muslim ban and has lead multiple protests against his further attempts to block Muslims, his bombing of Syria, his escalating use of drones, and his recent use of a megabomb. A closing rally is set for 6:30 pm at the Federal Building (4th & 4th in Downtown Minneapolis).
Aby-Keirstead expects around five thousand protesters consisting of worker organizations, unions and immigrants rights groups at various marches in the Twin Cities.
