Governor Mark Dayton’s prostate cancer was caught early and is localized, treatable and curable. That’s according to Mayo Clinic spokesperson Karl Oestreich after visits from the governor on Tuesday and Wednesday. Oestreich says “the Governor should be able to carry on his duties serving the citizens of Minnesota without significant interruption.” A Dayton spokesman says the governor is “evaluating two recommended treatment options… surgery or radiation.” Dayton expects to make a decision on treatment within the next several days.
