Food service workers at Mayo Clinic locations in Rochester, Mankato, Albert Lea and Fairmont have overwhelmingly approved a five-year contract with Morrison Healthcare which Mayo hired to operate those facilities. Existing employees will receive a two-and-a-half percent raise each year, increased holiday pay plus health and dental insurance and other benefits. The vote comes after a year-long dispute that centered around workers’ concerns over outsourcing. Food service worker John Predmore from Rochester says he and his co-workers finally have some peace of mind and adds it’s “good to know we are part of a union that will help watch our back.” Workers are members of the Service Employees International Union.
