Minnesota-based Medtronic is warning that its older insulin pumps which communicate wirelessly with external devices could be vulnerable to malicious hackers changing drug-delivery settings, which could send patients into diabetic emergencies. The advisory applies to Medtronic insulin pumps put on the market before 2013, including the MiniMed 508 pump and various models of the MiniMed Paradigm pumps. The widely-used MiniMed 530G and 600-series MiniMed pumps are *not* affected.
