(Minneapolis, MN) — Dominic Smith drilled a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning and the Mets tacked on nine more runs after that en route to a 14-4 rout of the Twins in Minneapolis. Amed Rosario finished 4-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and four runs scored as New York swept the two-game set. Pete Alonso hit his 31st homer for the Mets, who have won four straight overall. Jason Vargas tossed six innings of three-run ball for the win. Nelson Cruz and Mitch Garver went deep for the Twins, who have dropped three in-a-row. Trevor May took the loss.
