Duluth police responded to Klang Park around 3:30 p.m. on Monday on a report of a person with a weapon. Officers found a boy who said he was on a swing set when the two teenagers came up and threatened him with knives. No injuries were reported, and the boy said they all knew each other. The suspects were quickly found and arrested. They face assault, riot, and threats of violence charges.

(St. Paul, MN) — Two Sartell residents are facing multiple felony charges for tax fraud. According to the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Orlando Lam and Amanda Foss are each charged with five counts of filing false income tax returns and five counts of failing to pay taxes. Foss faces five additional counts for filing fraudulent property tax refund claims. Investigators allege the couple, who are married and living together, falsely claimed Head of Household status on separate tax filings from 2019 to 2023. They’re also accused of inflating deductions and reporting fake business losses. Foss allegedly filed bogus refund claims to boost welfare benefits and tax refunds.

(Otter Tail County, MN) — Through search warrants, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office recovered around sixty-five thousand dollars worth of stolen property, including three firearms, on Monday. Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in Scambler Township near Pelican Lake. Through a coordinated search with Clay County, Becker County, Barnesville, and Fargo authorities, Justin Bremer of Barnesville was arrested and is currently being held at the Clay County Detention Facility.

(Winona, MN) — A dump truck driver was killed Monday evening after his vehicle crossed a southeastern Minnesota highway and crashed into a ditch. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. just outside of Winona. Authorities say the dump truck was traveling north when it crossed both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway. The vehicle then entered a ditch and rolled onto its side. The driver is a 68-year-old man from Fountain City, Wisconsin. His name has not been released.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota D-N-R’s K-9 Unit is welcoming four new dogs and their handlers. Officials say the new teams will enhance the agency’s ability to detect aquatic invasive species, locate individuals, identify potential game and fish violations, and support local law enforcement. Conservation Officer Cassie Block and K-9 Jet will be stationed in Two Harbors, Officer Dustin Roemeling and K-9 Cora are in Worthington, Officer Annett Schlag and K-9 Trapper are stationed in Rochester, and Officer Jake Swedberg and K-9 Axel are based in Detroit Lakes.

(Forest Lake, MN) — A missing Forest Lake man is safe. Police are thanking the public for information and assistance in finding 28-year-old Aspen Ambrose. Ambrose, also known as Ashley Babcock, was last seen leaving his Forest Lake apartment on Friday, May 30th.

(Itasca County, MN) — There’s concern for the mental health and well-being of a missing Itasca County woman. Deputies say sixty-three-year-old Cheryl Babcock was last seen in Itasca County on Sunday. She’s described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. Babcock was last seen wearing a blue and white ankle-length skirt and a blue jean jacket. Her car was found parked on the side of the road near Highway 2 in Deer River.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson is scheduled to start tonight’s (Mon 6:40pm) series opener against the Texas Rangers at Target Field. Woods Richardson was called up from Triple-A St. Paul today to take the roster spot of Travis Adams. He went 2-and-0 with a 4.24 E-R-A in three starts for the Saints. Woods Richardson made eight appearances for Minnesota in April and May and had a 2-and-2 record with a 5.02 E-R-A. Adams was called up Friday but did not appear in a game for the Twins.
