>>3 Minneapolis Men Charged in Minneapolis Highs/Lows Gang Murder
(Minneapolis, MN) — Three Minneapolis men face maximum sentences of life in prison after being convicted of RICO conspiracy and premeditated murder. Officials say Keon Pruitt, 22, Dantrell Johnson, 32, and Gregory Hamilton, 29, were all members of the north Minneapolis gang, the Highs, which commits murder, narcotics trafficking, weapons violations, and more violent crime. On August 7th, 2021, a Highs member was shot and killed by the south Minneapolis gang, the Lows, at a Winner gas station, a Highs hangout. The following day, the three men drove to a Lows hangout to shoot a member in retaliation. They mistakenly took Darryl Wells for a Lows member and shot him at least eight times. Wells died at the scene. 16 defendants are pending trials for High/Lows gang-related crime.
>>Fire Takes Place At McDonald’s In Cannon Falls
(Cannon Falls, MN) — Crews battled a significant fire at a McDonald’s in Cannon Falls on Wednesday morning. First responders were originally dispatched to a dumpster fire. However, upon arrival, they observed flames coming from the restaurant itself. Firefighters started their efforts on the south side of the building, near a garage area, and then moved up to the roof. They remained on the scene for nearly three hours, monitoring hotspots to fully extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The state fire marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.

(Undated) – According to the American Lung Association’s 2025 “State of the Air” report, Minnesota’s air quality has worsened. Minnesota spokesman Jon Hunter says Minnesotans were exposed to more unhealthy ozone smog and particle pollution between 2021 and 2023. The report cites wildfire smoke from Canada and the West Coast as recent causes. Hunter says this is some of the worst air quality in twenty years.

Castro has missed six straight games after suffering an oblique injury against the Mets on April 16th. The team called up Mickey Gasper from St. Paul to take Castro’s roster spot. The Twins also sent pitcher David Festa to the Saints. Minnesota goes for the series sweep of the White Sox today at Target Field.

(Little Falls, MN) — The Minnesota National Guard is hosting the Best Warrior Competition at Camp Ripley tomorrow. Enlisted members from the Army and Air Force, along with two NATO partner nations, will participate in this demanding four-day event that tests their physical and technical warfighting skills. Four international service members from Croatia and Canada will also be competing. Each competitor will cover more than 30 miles, facing 18 unknown tasks throughout the competition. All 25 competitors have previously competed against their peers and have been selected to represent their respective units at this level.

(St. Peter, MN) — Gustavus Adolphus College will welcome a new president this summer. The Board of Trustees unanimously voted to hire Dr. John Volin from the University of Maine as the 18th president of the private college in St. Peter. Volin is the executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at Maine. He will succeed retiring President Rebecca Bergman, who has led Gustavus since 2015. Volin will start his new position on August 15th.
