Minnesota’s primary export markets are China, Mexico, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

(Ely, MN) — A house fire in Ely Tuesday night killed a woman and two dogs. Crews responded to the report around 11 p.m., finding the two-story house in flames. A woman was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. No other information is available.

>>Firefighters Respond to Turbine Fire at Xcel Energy Generating Plant

(Minneapolis, MN) — Fire officials say there are no environmental or exposure concerns after a fire in a turbine at an Xcel Energy electric generator in northeast Minneapolis. Crews called the plant late Tuesday night and found that the onsite extinguishment system had put out the fire in the malfunctioning turbine. They assisted with ventilating smoke out of the building. No one was injured in the fire.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A Bemidji man faces 21 years in federal prison for advertising and distributing child sex abuse material (CSAM). 47-year-old Craig Myran actively participated on multiple dark web sites dedicated to discussing and trafficking CSAM. Myran advertised over 100 images of two prepubescent minors being sexually abused. A search of his apartment on December 8th, 2022, turned up numerous hard drives and a cell phone filled with CSAM. Myran was convicted on November 20th (2024), the judge noting Myran’s “depraved mind” and “refusal to accept responsibility” created a “serious public threat.”

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Taste of Minnesota returns to downtown Minneapolis this summer. Saturday’s music lineup includes headliners Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Cheap Trick. Sunday’s headliner will be multi-platinum rapper Ludacris. The Taste of Minnesota is free to attend, but new this year are VIP packages. A one-day VIP experience is $200, while the VIP for both days is $350. Statue owner Gregory Rich says he will pay $2,500 for ‘Edwardo’s’ safe return and $5,000 if he’s returned and an arrest is made. Police ask anyone with information to call 952-826-1610.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Minnesota Gophers play Belmont later today (Wed 5pm) in the Indianapolis Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) championship. Minnesota advanced to the title game with a 66-52 win over Florida on Monday in the semifinal. Belmont topped Villanova in the semifinals. The Golden Gophers are 24-and-11 this season.
