(Fargo, ND) — A 35-year-old man faces two counts of attempted murder after a stabbing in downtown Fargo Sunday, shortly after a Pride Parade. Police responded to a disturbance report around 3:30 p.m., finding several people had been in a fight and stabbing. Two victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were brought to a local hospital. The suspect, Michael Hurtreau, was arrested. Police say everyone involved knew each other, and the stabbing is not believed to be related to the Pride Parade.

(Alexandria, MN) — A couple has been charged with felony theft after Alexandria police found over 240 stolen signs on their property. Judd and Wendy Hoff were arrested Saturday after a police raid of their home turned up hundreds of stolen signs. Judd is running as a DFL candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives against 12B seatholder Republican Mary Franson. Many of the signs were painted over to now read “Vote Hoff, State Representative 12B.”

The 18 awardees of $10,000 grants or less include Eagan, Cloquet, White Bear Lake, Winona, Bagley, Grand Marais, Cambridge, Edina, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Inver Grove Heights, Lake Bronson, Morton, Melrose, Mendota Heights, Litchfield, Worthington, Northfield, Rochester, Battle Lake, Sacred Heart, St. Cloud, and Woodbury.

(Grand Forks, ND) — A 20-year-old man faces charges of armed robbery, terrorizing, and physical obstruction of a government function after a robbery this morning (MON) in Grand Forks. Police responded to the Valley Dairy Store around 3:31 a.m. on a robbery report. The suspect, Ian Kramchuck, entered the store with a handgun and threatened employees. The workers forcefully took the gun from Kramchuck and restrained him until police arrived. Kramchuck refused to identify himself to the police. No injuries were reported.

(Rochester, MN) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is encouraging Rochester residents to reject hate and build a more welcoming, inclusive community. The attorney general was among several elected leaders and local officials who attended an anti-hate rally in Rochester yesterday. The local NAACP branch organized the rally after several incidents of vandalism involving racist symbols and slurs in the last few weeks. Ellison said those who practice hate speech and vandalism need to know that they are being lied to and used by others with an agenda. He encouraged a rejection of hate and a focus on making positive contributions to the community.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport officials are quite concerned about the proposed two-point-one-billion-dollar Riverview streetcar project. The Metropolitan Airports Commission believes the planned route from downtown St. Paul to the Mall of America could create a traffic mess for air travelers. MAC staff say enhanced bus service would be a better option. Additional bus service would cost 121 million dollars. Meanwhile, Ramsey County transit planners are not seeking public input on the Riverview project.
