(Falcon Heights, MN) — The Minnesota D-F-L Party reports selling a record 190 thousand dollars in merchandise at its State Fair booth between Thursday and Sunday. Officials say the previous record was 164 thousand dollars raised during the entire 12-day run of the State Fair in 2019. Opening day Thursday set a single-day record with 70 thousand dollars in D-F-L merchandise. The Harris-Walz orange camo hat sold out in less than an hour. Chairman Ken Martin says in a statement, “Minnesotans’ overwhelming enthusiasm for the Harris-Walz ticket has supercharged our volunteer sign-ups and grassroots fundraising, and now it’s fueling our success at the State Fair.”

(Undated) — Starting January 1st, 2025, Minnesota’s minimum wage will be $11.13 an hour, regardless of small or large business employment. Minnesota’s current minimum wage for small employers is $8.85 and $10.85 for large employers. The 90-day training wage for employees under 20 years old will go from $8.85 to $9.08 an hour. The rates are a 2.6% increase.

(St. Paul, MN) — A Rochester man will spend 20 years in federal prison for dealing large amounts of methamphetamine in southeastern Minnesota. Court documents say 51-year-old Panh Thavong was part of a conspiracy to distribute meth in July of 2022, shortly after he was released early from prison for a prior felony conviction. Prosecutors say law enforcement searched several locations and vehicles Thong was using and seized more than 68 kilograms of methamphetamine last December. Thavong was sentenced after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute meth.

(Sartell, MN) — A man is under arrest for allegedly robbing a convenience store at knifepoint in Sartell. Police say the suspect got away with several thousand dollars from the BP store’s pull tab cash. Investigators say they reviewed camera footage of the robbery and were able to match the suspect and his vehicle. Officers say the 57-year-old suspect was arrested in Sauk Rapids trying to buy pull tabs at another store.
