(St. Paul, MN) — The brother of Governor Tim Walz says he’s done commenting on politics after the publication of some of his Facebook posts. Jeff Walz reportedly posted last Friday that he is totally opposed to his brother’s political views and that his brother “is not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.” Walz clarified those comments in an interview with NewsNation, saying it wasn’t his intent to do anything “to influence the general public.” The registered Republican said he shouldn’t have used social media to make a point about his own political views. He also said he wouldn’t be campaigning for any candidates ahead of the November election.

A recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll shows that the incumbent leads Republican hopeful Royce White by 14 points, 50 percent to 36 percent. Eleven percent of registered voters were undecided. In a previous poll, Klobuchar had a 22-point advantage over White.

(New Ulm, MN) — A motorcyclist is hospitalized in Rochester after a crash early this morning (Wed) near Hanska in south-central Minnesota. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Michael Wooten was riding west on County Road 6 when he struck a deer in the roadway. Deputies say Wooten was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries. No other information is being released.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man is dead after a shooting in south Minneapolis Tuesday that police have dubbed a “location that has been problematic in the past.” Officers responded to the shooting report around 7 p.m., finding a man in his 20s with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving aid, the man died at the scene. Investigators learned the victim was in a group of about 10 people, got into a fight with a second man, and shots were fired. No arrests have been made. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is working to identify the victim and cause of death. MPD says it’s “frustrating knowing that we can’t prevent everything.”

(Redwood Falls, MN) — The former manager of a small grocery store in Redwood Falls in southwestern Minnesota is charged with sexually assaulting a teenage cashier and admitted to relationships with two other underaged employees and receiving nude images from a minor. 46-year-old Kyle Shelton of Redwood Falls faces four felony charges. Shelton was a manager at the grocery store formerly known as Tersteeg’s, where generations of teens in Redwood Falls have worked over the summer and after school.

(Brooklyn Park, MN) — A woman has been hospitalized with severe injuries after she was attacked by her dogs at her Brooklyn Park apartment. Police responded to reports of a woman yelling for help around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. They found a woman with wounds from being mauled by her and her boyfriend’s three pit bulls. The woman is in critical but stable condition. Two of the dogs were taken into custody, while the third was euthanized on scene due to aggression. A second dog was put down later due to severe injuries.
